At the Martial Arts Reality Superfighting show November 22, 1996 in Birmingham, AL Murilo defeated Chris Haseman in 1:06, defeated Juan Mott in 1:09 and went to a draw with super heavyweight wrestler Tom Erickson after forty minutes. Murilo gave up eighty pounds to Erickson. At Pentagon Combat September 27, 1997 in Brazil, Murilo defeated Lion's Den fighter Jerry Bohlander by KO from a kick from the guard to the face in 5:39.
