Miocic Faces Rothwell in Dublin

Two of the heavyweight division's best will attempt to move one step closer to a world title shot on October 24 in Dublin, Ireland, as the number three-ranked Stipe Miocic faces off with number six-ranked Ben Rothwell.

Also announced for the UFC Fight Night card, is a flyweight bout between Dublin's Paddy "The Hooligan" Holohan and Louis Smolka, and a welterweight matchup pitting Darren Till against Nicolas Dalby.

In the evening's main event, Irish star Joseph Duffy faces lightweight contender Dustin Poirier.

Fresh from a fifth-round TKO of Mark Hunt in May, Ohio's Miocic has won four of his last five, and with a win over the veteran Rothwell, he will make a strong case for a shot at the heavyweight title. Wisconsin's Rothwell is showing the best form of his 15-year career though, with his current three-fight winning streak including finishes of Brandon Vera, Alistair Overeem and Matt Mitrione.
