UFC Teams with Exos to Provide Athletes with World-Class Training and Education

Las Vegas – UFC® today announced that EXOS, the leader in sports training, nutrition and education, will serve as the organization’s performance partner in 2016. Many UFC athletes will have the opportunity to train and learn from EXOS’ world-class performance staff of coaches, nutritionists and physical therapists, while also participating in educational seminars at UFC Athlete Summits throughout the year.

The first group of UFC athletes currently training at EXOS headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz., include: Kelvin Gastelum, Kamaru Usman, Paul Felder and Max Holloway.

“We are thrilled to work with EXOS, as we further our commitment to provide our athletes with access to resources that will allow them to maximize their career windows,” UFC Chief Operating Officer Lawrence Epstein said. “UFC athletes are some of the most well-conditioned and dynamic competitors in all of sports and by collaborating with EXOS, an organization with an incredible track record of success with elite athletes, they’ll learn new and innovative ways to optimize their performance and protect themselves from injury.”

“EXOS is honored to be the trusted source for the most elite athletes and organizations in the world,” said Mark Verstegen, founder and president of EXOS. “Through this partnership, we hope to help fighters achieve their true potential by improving their performance and decreasing injuries that will ultimately lead to career longevity and a healthy post competitive career lifestyle.”

UFC and EXOS first worked together in 2015, offering various informative seminars and training opportunities for UFC athletes. These opportunities educated athletes in areas specific to maximizing performance and minimizing injury risk, while preparing their bodies for the rigors of professional competition.

In addition to its efforts with EXOS, UFC recently broke ground on the UFC Athlete Health and Performance Center in Las Vegas. Slated to open in 2017, the UFC Athlete Health and Performance Center will span more than 30,000 square feet and offer UFC athletes the best in performance training, rehabilitation, nutrition and sports science. This investment in its athletes’ long-term health and wellness signals UFC’s future as a global leader in sports performance.
