UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo spoke to journalists on Wednesday morning at the Nova Uniao gym in Rio de Janeiro, and gave his opinion on Ronda Rousey’s possible return to the Octagon following her loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 this past weekend.
“I think it’s very difficult for her to regain the belt. It’s even complicated for her to return to fighting. With the course her career took, if I had made a lot of money with films and other activities, I would invest in that,” Aldo said.
The Brazilian continued to praise the former champion, saying that Ronda Rousey leaves a huge legacy for the sport, but he doesn’t believe she will fight again.
“I believe she won’t come back. But, if she does, of course she can regain the belt. (…) Ronda Rousey changed women’s MMA, she did things nobody could imagine.”
Aldo returns to the Octagon at UFC 194, on December 12, in Las Vegas, to face Irishman Conor McGregor, the interim featherweight champion.
