What ranks and titles have you held? Kid’s blue belt IBJJF world, BJJ brown belt, TUF 29 finalist
Who is your favorite fighter and why? GSP. I always liked how well-rounded he was. He was good everywhere and could win a fight wherever it went.
Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My mom. She’s the strongest person I know. She raised my brother and me and had to be both our mom and dad. I’ve always looked up to her for that.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? A UFC contract means the world to me. I’ve been training since I was young for this.
What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why? My first fight on The Ultimate Fighter. That was the fight where I proved to myself that I belonged in the UFC and could compete at this level.
Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? I want to use my platform to bring attention to the fires that have affected the Spokane area and the people who have lost homes or been displaced. Spokane is my home, and being a firefighter here makes it hit even closer to home. I’ve seen how much these fires can affect a community, and I want to bring as much attention and support to those families as I can
Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? Seeing how far I can go and finding out how good I really am. I want to keep pushing myself and see what I’m truly capable of.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Was in college for a fire science degree
What was your job before you started fighting? This was my first job. Also teaching BJJ
