When and why did you start training for fighting? My passion for training stems from my love of Dragon Ball and my desire to have intense fights and improve every day with training. I started training at 15, in underground fights held in nightclubs.
What professional titles have you held? Matchmaker Featherweight Champion, FFC Featherweight Champion, COMBATE GLOBAL Featherweight Champion, LFC Featherweight Champion
Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? National Champion, 30-0 Record
What are your current ranks in martial arts? I currently have a record of 22 wins and 5 losses as a professional. I reached 30 zero as an amateur, I am a Black Belt in jiu jitsu and I have been training MM since I was 15 years old.
What has been your toughest fight to date and why? All fights are tough; there’s no easy opponent. The toughest fight, in my opinion, was my second fight in a global bout against Mexican Alex Velazco, since I didn’t have the arsenal I have today.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? My favorite fighter is Islam because he has reached the top and become the World Top, without making much noise or media, but only hard work and results.
Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My out-of-world hero of the week, I would say is Goku, since even though he almost always loses he never loses his goal of being stronger, continue improving and prepare for the next challenge and I feel that that is the mentality that one must have to become a great mixed martial arts fighter.
Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? I want to show all Colombians and all the people who live with this dream that they think that to achieve it they have to come to live in the United States. I want to be living proof that with hard work, effort and good decisions you can reach the greatest things in the world, despite starting from the bottom, without having any financial or family support.
Beyond a championship and money, what motivates you? I am motivated to leave a legacy and lead the way and be the inspiration of all Colombians who follow this dream, and who ever want to reach the UFC like I am doing now.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? professional science of sport and sports administration
What was your job before you started fighting? worker in a hardware company and music teacher
