UFC Fight Night (6/27/26) Nascimento makes his UFC debut against Tahir Abdullayev

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s the realization of a dream. This first fight represents the beginning of a new era for me and the start of a great story.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training at the age of three in judo. My parents wanted me to learn self-defense, and I was also an overweight child, so I needed physical activities to help me lose weight.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? I’m a huge fan of Anderson Silva. As a kid, I never missed one of his fights. But my favorite fighter is my training partner Carlston Harris because he overcame every challenge and obstacle life put in front of him and became a very successful athlete. He also showed me firsthand the true mindset of a champion.

Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My greatest inspiration is God, and here on Earth, it’s my parents. My parents are my heroes.

What are your current ranks in martial arts? Black Belt in Luta Livre and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Black Level in Muay Thai, Brown Belt in Judo

Specific accomplishments in pro competition? LFA Interim Lightweight Champion.

What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why? My last fight was the most important one. It put me in the spotlight and earned me a UFC contract.

Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? I dream of helping the children in my community. There are many social projects and a lot of talented kids who deserve opportunities.

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? What motivates me is changing my life and my family’s life. I also want to be a role model for the children in my neighborhood and show them that choosing the right path is worth it.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I completed four semesters of Physical Education, but I did not graduate.

What was your job before you started fighting professionally? I served in the Armed Forces before making my professional MMA debut.

Favorite grappling technique: Anaconda Choke

Favorite striking technique: Body Hook

Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching fights, studying martial arts, and helping young athletes from my community whenever possible.
