When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training Jiu Jitsu when I was 12 because of the influence of my sister and dad, then MMA in 2020 to test myself in another sport after accomplishing big things in grappling.
What professional titles have you held? I am 13x Black Belt World Champion and 2x ADCC Champion.
Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? Black Belt in BJJ
What has been your toughest fight to date and why? My only loss of my career Against “Reug Reug”. It was a really tough fight and I lost by decision, but it made me a better fighter, for sure.
Who is your favorite fighter and why? Cain Velasquez, Minotauro and BJ Penn.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No, I finished high school.
What was your job before you started fighting? Jiu Jitsu instructor.
Origin of nickname: I got this nickname on my first week of Jiu Jitsu when I was around 12 years old because I was a chubby kid. Buchecha means “Cheek”.
Personal Life / Background: I have no kids.
