When and why did you start training for fighting? I started fighting mainly for self defense reasons, and from the first submission I learned, I was hooked and progressed from there.

Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? IKF Kickboxing Championship Super Lightweight [145]

What has been your toughest fight to date and why? Kin Moy. I went into the fight with two big injuries, and it ended up being a back and forth war.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? I have two favorite fighters; they are Max Hollowaw and Jon Jones. I’m a fan of Jon because we train together, and I have gotten to know him on a more personal level. He is a true leader with a strong mentality. Max is also a favorite of mine due to how often he takes fights and how busy he is in the cage.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I started to go to college for EMS, but fighting has my attention at the moment and I haven't been able to complete my schooling.

What was your job before you started fighting? I’m a manager/accounting assistant at Streamline Insurance and then I teach at UFC Gym on certain days on top of training full-time.

Personal life/background: I’m a big family man. I have a wife, a four-year-old boy, and an eleven-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum. Outside of fighting, I enjoy golfing, fishing, and traveling. I am also a man of faith.
